Approve Charges for Student Supplies - 2010/2011

The School Board annually approves charges, reimbursements, rental fees, etc. to cover the cost of consumable supplies, textbooks, vocational kits, etc.

Category 1 - These funds are supplied by the School Board and are given to schools for consumable supplies. New Career and Technical courses have been assigned an allocation. Several Career and Technical courses are being recommended for an increased per-student allocation.

Category 2 - These charges are paid by the students and the books, kits, etc. become the property of the student. Each charge reflects the actual cost of the item.

Category 3 - These are rental fees paid by the students.

Category 4 - These items are service charges paid by the students and are primarily vocational club dues and similar charges.

Category 5 - These are optional items including workbooks, paperback novels, etc. that are generally sold through the bookstore.

Overall estimated Career and Technical supply funds are expected to increase by $7,971 over 2009/2010 levels to include funding for new programs ($6,692) and changes to the per-student funding of existing programs ($1,279).
