Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)/AdvancED District Accreditation Report
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) formally achieved Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)/AdvancED district accreditation on June 17, 2010. The exit interview from the Quality Assurance Review (QAR) team and the subsequent report indicated the following:
- HCPS has a healthy district culture that both supports and strengthens our missions and vision.
- HCPS has strong leadership that has the entire district focused on achieving our strategic goals.
- HCPS has ongoing professional development, which employs a “systems” approach and is fully aligned with our strategic goals, particularly those related to improving teacher effectiveness.
- HCPS is to closely monitor early stage initiatives to ensure continued success and is to expand existing support practices to all schools.
- HCPS is to institute an action research initiative to promote creative, yet responsible, teaching and learning practices.
The entire QAR report is available on the district’s SACS Accreditation website,
http://accreditation.mysdhc.org. The district and all schools are fully accredited through June 30, 2015.
