School Board Policy Section 6331, Construction Contracting delegates authority to the Superintendent for award of contracts for minor (costing between $10,000 and $300,000) construction, renovation, repair and remodeling projects acquired through the competitive bidding process. The policy requires an annual report to the Board of contracts awarded. The attached report identifies contracts awarded during the 2009-10 school year.

The report includes both completed projects and those awarded but not yet complete. A summary of change orders associated with these projects is included at Attachment B.

All projects were advertised via Vendor Bid. Solicitations required the submittal of qualifications with each proposal. Staff reviewed qualifications prior to award of contracts to the lowest qualified bidder.
