Required Public Hearings on District Strategies to Meet CS/HB (Committee Substitute for House Bill) 5101 (2010)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Per CS/HB 5101 (2010), Florida public school districts must hold public hearings describing how the district will meet class size requirements prior to the adoption of the district's FY 2010-2011 budget by the School Board. Two public hearings are being held on July 20, 2010, and August 10, 2010, with a 5:30 p.m. time-certain hearing for each meeting. These public hearings allow the Superintendent and staff to review strategies and activities undertaken since 2002 to prepare the district for full implementation, by grade level, for class size reduction.
