Approve a Revised Reciprocal Agreement for the Use of Facilities Between the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida and the Bob Sierra Family YMCA at Gaither High School

For several years, Gaither High School students have been using the Bob Sierra Family YMCA aquatics area, fitness center, multi-purpose room and gymnasium. In exchange, the YMCA has had use of Gaither's track and practice football fields for their Youth Flag Football League; the track for their Running Club; the gym for youth volleyball; and use of the south parking lot. Gaither's Severe and Profound Mentally Handicap Program (SPMH) uses the YMCA's aquatic facilities and is supervised by Gaither's SPMH teachers and attendants. The YMCA provides a lifeguard as part of this usage at no charge. The Gaither Swim Team and Wrestling program also make use of the YMCA facilities and student athletes also have access to the YMCA Wellness Center.

The prior Agreement had been renewed annually. This revised Agreement sets up a perpetual agreement with the right of cancellation by both parties. The YMCA and Gaither Administration will establish a calendar of use dates each year.

This Agreement is mutually beneficial to both parties and any costs are off-setting.
