Recognition of Intel International Science and Engineering Fair Winners (Secondary Education-Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (Intel ISEF) is a global academic competition sponsored by Intel and the Society for Science & the Public (SSP) since 1950. The fair attracts over 1,500 precollege students from more than 50 countries, all of whom have already won regional or national science fairs. Intel ISEF provides these students with the opportunity to display cutting edge science projects, compete for over $4 million in awards and scholarships, and network with fellow young scientists and industry veterans.

The 2010 ISEF was held in San Jose, California, from May 9-14, 2010, with more than 600 individual student and team awards presented. Special awards were presented by over 60 scientific, professional, and educational organizations and included scholarships, summer internships, book and equipment grants, and scientific field trips.

Hillsborough County Public Schools sent two representatives to ISEF, Jasmine Roberts of Wharton High School and Mark Parrish of Chamberlain High School.
