Approve Agreement for Contracted Services Between the Center for Technology and Education and the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Online Consortium for ESOL Online Courses, 2010/2011 (Programs for English Language Learners)

The ESOL Online Consortium consisting of Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Sarasota, and Seminole school districts, is requesting approval for contracted services with the Center for Technology and Education. ESOL online professional development services will be provided by the Center for Technology and Education to enable districts to meet ESOL Consent Decree requirements inclusive of teacher certification that impacts Full Time Equivalency (FTE) weighted funding. The ESOL online courses will be provided at no cost to consortium members. This agreement establishes the procedures, utilization, and delivery of services for both consortium and nonconsortium members and includes the fees for nonconsortium members. The agreement shall be in effect from September 22, 2010, through June 30, 2011.

Contracted Services will be funded by ESOL Online Consortium. There is no additional cost to the district and the agreement provides Hillsborough County teachers opportunities to participate in ESOL online courses at no charge.
