Approve the Purchase of Edline Gradebook with Parent/Student Access for Elementary Schools (Business Division)

On July 14, 2009, the Board approved the lowest and best proposal submitted by Edline for a centralized, web-based, gradebook with parent and student access. The initial term of the contract was for three(3) years. The first purchase of $165,000 was for the school year of 2009/2010 and covered the middle and high schools.

This purchase expands the use of Edline Gradebook to the elementary schools and totals $130,072.

Elementary schools currently use a desktop version of the Edline gradebook program, Easy Grade Pro. A customized version of this software is used to create elementary report cards. This purchase will provide teachers access to the web-based Easy Grade Pro customized to print elementary report cards, as well as adding functionality that increases parent communication.

Funds of $56,800 were appropriated in the Information and Technology budget, $27,348 will be available from Supplemental Academic Instruction, and $45,924 will be available from the Title I ARRA stimulus funds.
