The 2011 Employee Benefits Annual Enrollment

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The Employee Benefits Annual Enrollment for 2011 begins Wednesday, September 29, 2010, and ends Friday, October 8, 2010. This year there will be two Open Enrollment Meetings / Health Fairs – Saturday, October 2 at Jefferson High (9 a.m. - 12 noon); and Wednesday, October 6, at Brandon High (4:30 - 6 p.m.). Employees are invited to attend these meetings to discuss their benefits issues with various vendors and Employee Benefits staff members, participate in the Humana health fair, and even get their annual $5 flu shots (as supplies last and provided members bring their HCPS Humana ID cards). Two additional meetings, without health fairs, are scheduled for Thursday, September 30 at Armwood High and Tuesday, October 5 at Gaither High (4:30 - 6 p.m.).

At each of the four meetings we will conduct a formal presentation explaining the features of each of the health plans being offered, as well as other information to help employees make their best choices, such as: 1) how to compare the medical plans; 2) how to determine which medical plan may be the most cost-efficient for them; 3) what differences may make their medical plan choice for them; and 4) which voluntary benefits may be advantageous to them and/or their family members. In addition to these meetings, a video of benefits information is available for employees and their family members to see and hear and replay as needed. Humana is again providing a hotline for eligible employees and retirees to call (1.888.393.6765). A supply of materials has been produced in Spanish, and Spanish-speaking benefits staff will be available at all meetings.

Employees can make their 2011 benefits elections in one of two easy ways: 1) Call the Aon Call Center to have their elections entered for them at 1.866.522.9133, or 2) Go to the Web site at www.sdhc.selfservicenow.com to enter their elections themselves.
