EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, as the local education agency, is designated as a mandatory partner. Other mandatory partners are Tampa Housing Authority, Vocational Rehabilitation, Hillsborough Community College, and Department of Children and Families. As a mandatory partner, The School District of Hillsborough County, Florida, occupies a seat on the Region 15 Workforce Board and is a voting member of the Board of Directors. The remainder of the seats on the Board of Directors is held by local business and labor representatives.
We request that approval of this document be retroactive to July 1, 2010. The delay in submission of this document to the School Board for approval is attributed to the change of leadership at the Tampa Bay Workforce Alliance, Inc., the careful review by the attorneys representing both parties, subsequent modifications which were negotiated, and additional legal review. During this time, participation as a mandatory partner has continued.
