Approve Acceptance of Project for Classrooms for Kids Addition at
Lutz Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On November 9, 2006, the Board appointed Harvard Jolly, Inc. and Greater Bay Construction Co., Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The scope of work provided for an additional 12 classrooms. This addition was necessary to meet class size reduction requirements.

The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.

Due to the failure of Greater Bay Construction to complete the contract requirements, the Board recently terminated the agreement with Greater Bay for this project. Staff is working with the Board attorney to determine the appropriate disposition of the remaining funds due.
