Approve the Recommendation Regarding the Purchase of Software and Equipment from Freedom Scientific (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

These items from Freedom Scientific are being purchased from the exclusive agent within the state and are exempt from the bidding process per Department of Education Rule 6A1.012 purchasing policies.

The hardware and software products being purchased are to meet the needs of students with visual impairments per student Individual Education Plans.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

* Increase promotion rates at all grade levels and the percentage of high school graduates, * Demonstrate consistent and effective teaching methods, * Challenge and support all students with an appropriate curriculum

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

ARRA stimulus funds not to exceed $75,721 will be available for this purchase.
