EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On November 9, 2006, the Board appointed Carruthers & Associates Architects P.A. and Batson-Cook Company to provide design and construction management services. The scope of work provides for the following additions: 24 classrooms at Freedom High School and 12 classrooms at Liberty Middle School. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. Project completion is scheduled as follows: July 18, 2008 for Freedom and June 27, 2008 for Liberty.
Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for each facility, and provide for an increase in the construction manager's fee associated with extraordinary conditions.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Construction cost for Freedom High School is warranted at $4,030,394, which includes $390,396 for extraordinary conditions (see attachment for list). The construction budget is $4,030,394. Construction cost for Liberty Middle School is warranted at $2,303,698, which includes $455,698 for extraordinary conditions (see attachment for list). The construction budget is $2,303,698. These items are included in the District Capital Outlay: Classrooms for Kids.
