Approve Agreement for Technical Services with The Princeton Review for Online Tutorial Training - $6,000 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval of the Agreement for Technical Services with The Princeton Review to conduct online tutorial training to support the Hillsborough Talent Identification Program (TIP). TIP identifies academically talented 7th grade students based on standardized test scores and invites them to participate in the Standardized Academic Test (SAT) college entrance exam.

The consultant will conduct 4 training sessions (two each day) on October 10 and 11, 2007, at Aparicio-Levy Technical Center, to instruct teachers on the application of the online software used in tutoring students. The Princeton Review Online Tutorial Program is implemented in each of the 44 middle schools. The purpose of the online program is to better prepare identified students for the SAT exam which will be administered in January 2008.
