EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Robinson Green Beretta Corporation and Greater Bay Construction Co., Inc. were selected from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services. On July 17, 2007, the Board voted to lease an area of the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), previously occupied by Terrace Charter School. The use of this space allowed approximately 300 students to be transferred from Shaw Elementary School, a nearby over-capacity school. The renovation of existing facilities includes addition of lighting in selected classrooms originally designed as exhibit spaces, landscaping, fencing around air conditioning units, markerboards and tackboards, fire alarm devices as required, fire sprinklers in breezeway and food serving area, construction of vestibules into first floor classrooms to allow reversal of door swings, replacement of toilet partitions in group toilet rooms, door hardware as required, window blinds, signage, painting, cleaning, repair of countertops in group toilet rooms, plumbing repairs, and removal of built-in counters in food serving area.
Approval of the guaranteed price will provide a maximum cost for renovation of the facility. Project completion is scheduled for November 15, 2007.
