EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Spring is a 24 hour emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and their dependant children who have no other safe place to go. Outreach service areas are also available for those who are not seeking shelter. There is a public school classroom on the grounds of the Spring. The school is an alternative education site served by the districts Homeless Education program staff. The children and their families are considered homeless. Last school year the district served 111 children and their families through the "formal" intake process.
Through the efforts of our district Social Workers, the Spring is able to provide a network of services. Oak Park Elementary, Franklin Middle, and Middleton High School are three schools of focus. Programs such as our district Alternative Education and the Neglected and Delinquent Program, provide tutoring and parent literacy services, to mention a few.
