Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for
Elementary School "N" (Valencia Lakes), New Facility

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This project is being planned by the architectural firm of Harvard Jolly, Inc. On July 11, 2006, the Board appointed the construction management firm of HCBeck, Ltd. This new facility will relieve overcrowding at Cypress Creek Elementary School. Project completion is scheduled for July 31, 2008.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the facility.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $14,150,046, which includes $172,018 for extraordinary conditions (sanitary lift station and off-site sidewalks). The construction budget is $14,213,498. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificates of Participation Series (CoPS) 06 ($7,843,871) and High Growth District Capital Outlay Assistance Grant ($6,306,175).
