EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Chapter advisors requested that the district provide inservice training in team building and coaching strategies in building successful student organizations. The advisor coaching seminar topics will include the following: motivating students, setting high expectations, the law of restricted performances, goal setting, the 5R coaching process and key coaching behaviors, the art of positive feedback, and the team commitment process. The seminar will include multiple speakers conducting keynote and break-out sessions.
The high school student CTSO officers’ seminar is designed to increase student leadership skills, confidence building, and goal setting. Topics will include methods and phrases to practice for acceptance of recognition and praise from others; benefits and methods for stepping up to take responsibility for their actions and errors; setting and following through on leadership goals; the core principals of leadership; and methods to maintain flexibility and confidence when speaking to groups. Provider will facilitate student development of short-term leadership goals. The consultant will provide the facility (Girl Scout Headquarters, Tampa), materials, text, and follow-up materials and contacts.
