Roosevelt Elementary School, Classrooms for Kids Package 3
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On September 7, 2004, the Board appointed Long & Associates Architects/Engineers, Inc. and R.J. Bunbury Company, Inc. to provide design and construction management services for classroom additions at Crestwood, Egypt Lake, Mendenhall, and Roosevelt Elementary Schools. Roosevelt Elementary School was separated as a project due to budget and cost issues related to the City of Tampa Architectural Review Committee's requirements. After addressing these issues, the construction schedule was reestablished and the Guaranteed Maximum Price for the Roosevelt Elementary School addition was set and approved by the Board on July 11, 2006. The scope of work provides for the addition of 8 primary classrooms and replacement of the fire alarm and intercom systems throughout the existing facility.
Change Order No. 6 provides a credit for the direct purchase of materials by the District, in accordance with the Direct Purchase Program. Change Order No. 7 provides for relocation of the new water service meter to Concordia Avenue, replacement of quantities of unsuitable soils exceeding previous replacement allowances, and remobilization costs for erection of the aluminum canopy across Tacon Street, required due to delays in obtaining City permits and approvals.
