EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On November 9, 2006, the Board appointed Long and Associates Architects/Engineers, Inc. and J.O. DeLotto and Sons, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. The scope of work provides for the following additions: 16 classrooms at Bartels Middle School and 12 classrooms at Clark Elementary School. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. Completion of each project is scheduled for August 4, 2008.
Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for each facility.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Construction cost for Bartels Middle School is warranted at $2,927,398, which includes $526,622 for extraordinary conditions (extended sidewalk, storm water piping, systems conduit and wiring, aluminum canopy and power feeder connections, restrooms, irrigation well relocation, two-story concrete canopy and balcony, window awnings, additional stair and railings, high-impact windows). The construction budget is $2,927,398. Construction cost for Clark Elementary School is warranted at $2,174,842, which includes $338,505 for extraordinary conditions (extended utility connections, pavement demolition and replacement, additional crushed concrete and sleeves, silt fence in excess of 740 feet, removal of landscaping and irrigation obstructions, unsuitable soil replacement, south wing restoration allowance, additional stairs and handrails). The construction budget is $2,174,842. These items are included in the District Capital Outlay: Classrooms for Kids.
