We request approval to adopt the recommended Secondary Social Studies Advanced Placement (AP) flexibility instructional materials for the following courses/subjects: AP Comparative Government, AP U.S. History, American History, AP U.S. Government and Politics, and AP Comparative Politics. The materials will serve as support materials for AP instruction. The attached memorandum from Dennis Holt, Supervisor, Secondary Social Studies, indicates the FLEX textbook committee studied and recommended the listed instructional materials according to district guidelines (Policy 4.16) which include the following:

• The District FLEX textbook selection committee is trained in the instructional materials evaluation process.
• The FLEX Committee reviews and evaluates submissions using the Florida Department of Education instructional materials evaluation packet.
• The FLEX Committee through a consensus vote recommends instructional materials to be placed on the FLEX list for purchase.
