Approve Disposal of Portables that are Beyond Economical Repair (BER) (Business Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

School Board Policy provides authority to the Board to sell, transfer or dispose of any real or tangible property which is declared by the Board to be unnecessary or unsuitable for district purposes. The attached list of portables has been declared BER by the Maintenance Department and no longer serves a district purpose. Three portables will be donated to the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ).

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

The demolition cost of a portable ranges from $3,500 to $5,000, depending on the type and environmental concerns. The cost of demolition is paid from the Maintenance Portable Budget. The Fixed Asset File will be reduced by a net book value of $82,535.64.
