SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve License and Hold Harmless Agreement for Polling Place with Supervisor of Elections, of Hillsborough County, for Use of Facilities for the Primary and General Elections, 2008 (Curriculum and Instruction Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

We request approval of the License and Hold Harmless Agreement for Polling Place with the Supervisor of Elections to provide polling precincts for the Presidential Preference Primary, January 29, 2008; the Primary Election, August 26, 2008; and General Election on November 4, 2008. Six school sites have been requested: Monroe and Rodgers Middle Schools and King, Middleton, Riverview, and Wharton High Schools. The schools will be available for equipment setup as needed and agreed upon by the county and the school administrator and on the election dates from 6 a.m. until the election activities are concluded.

The School Board has cooperated in the past by allowing use of school sites for polling places. The election activities at school sites provide civic duty awareness learning experiences for students.
