Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for Classrooms for Kids Addition at
Riverview High School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On November 9, 2006, the Board appointed Holmes Hepner and Associates Architects and The Morganti Group, Inc. to provide design and construction management services. These additions are necessary to meet class size reduction requirements. The scope of work provides for an additional 20 classrooms. Project completion is scheduled for August 4, 2008.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the facility.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $3,579,093, which includes $510,225 for extraordinary conditions (extended electrical runs, fire protection, plumbing, memorial plaza, bathrooms). The construction budget is $3,695,000. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Classrooms for Kids.
