EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Howard & Associates Architects, P.A. and Kenyon & Partners, Inc. were selected from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide design and construction management services. The scope of work provided for the reconfiguration of the parent drive to allow safe access to the school. This project was planned as a result of recommendations received from our District Safety Office and the county's Transportation Department. An overwhelming volume of parent traffic, unanticipated when the school was originally constructed, severely impeded the flow of traffic through the parent loop. To avoid the congestion, parents parked on the rights-of-way and walked students to the school, creating an unsafe condition. This project provided safer ingress/egress, increased the vehicular capacity and flow rate within the parent loop, and discouraged parking on the rights-of-way.
The architect advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
