SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for
Steinbrenner High School, New Facility

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On July 26, 2005, the Board appointed Sylla, Inc. and HCBeck, Ltd. to provide design and construction management services. This new facility will be a reuse of the Middleton High School design. As of the current boundaries, relief will be provided for Alonso, Gaither, and Sickles High Schools. Project completion is scheduled for the 2009-10 school year.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the facility.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $47,090,267. The construction budget is $47,361,429. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificates of Participation Series 2004C ($8,054,496) and 2006 ($39,306,933).
