Update on NetSmartz Internet Safety Program
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The NetSmartz Internet Program was developed by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and The Boys and Girls Clubs of America to teach children, ages 5-17, how to be safer when using the Internet. The Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System requires each student under the age of 18 to complete the NetSmartz Program before accessing the Internet through the Library System's computers. In partnership with the Tampa-Hillsborough County Public Library System, 144,755 Hillsborough County Public School students have completed the NetSmartz Internet Safety Program at their school sites and have earned their certificates.
