School Board staff has been working with Hillsborough County Parks, Recreation and Conservation Department (the "County") to construct a cover over the existing playcourt on School Board owned property at Town and Country Elementary School (Exhibit A, "Sketch"). It has been mutually decided that the County will provide funding for the project, not to exceed $157,000, which will include the design, permitting, and construction administration for the project and the School Board will be responsible for the construction (Exhibit C, "Scope of Work"). The School Board will handle the day-to-day maintenance of the covered playcourt, since the School will be the main user of the facility during school hours. The County will have use of the area during all other times and as part of their after school program. As part of this Agreement, the School Board and the County will each have the right to request additional usage from the other (Exhibit B, "Schedule and Maintenance").

Staff anticipates completion of this Project by December 31, 2008. The Interlocal Agreement has been reviewed by the School Board Attorney as to form and sufficiency.

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

The School Board will be reimbursed $157,000 by Hillsborough County from their CIP Funds for the construction of the playcourt cover and site work at Town and Country Elementary School.
