Approve Renewal Memorandum of Agreement with the Hillsborough County Health Department for Comprehensive Grant Dollars (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This renewal Memorandum of Agreement provides the School Board with thirteen (13) registered nurses to work in schools under direct supervision of the Supervisor of School Health Services in accordance with the State of Florida Best Practices Guidelines. This supervisor will be responsible for hiring and evaluating the nurses hired under this program. These registered nurses are paid by the Health Department and by the Health Department’s salary and fringe schedules. This funding is used for salaries, fringes, travel and training for thirteen (13) registered school nurses.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Goal 5 – The District will eliminate the FCAT achievement gap by a minimum of 10 percentage points as reported by No Child Left Behind.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

$644,164 - Federal Title XXI dollars are provided by the County Health Department.

EVALUATION

The annual report and plan are submitted to the Department of Health in September. Data is collected from monthly reports submitted by school nurses.
