Consulting Engineering Associates, Inc. was selected from the approved Continuing Services Consultants list to provide engineering services. The scope of work provides for replacement of the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) controls at Knights Elementary School and Monroe Middle School. The project was advertised and a single bid was received (see attachment). Based on the District's and the engineer's previous positive experiences with the bidder, and the fact that the bid is significantly below the project budget, award of the project to the sole bidder, Automated Building Control System, Inc., is recommended. Project completion is scheduled for August 18, 2008.

Total funds in the amount of $284,200 are included in the District Capital Outlay: Public Education Capital Outlay (PECO) Maintenance. The contract amount being awarded is $226,000.
