EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
In order to acquire the necessary school sites inside the City of Tampa as stipulated in the Facilities Five Year Work Plan, District staff will be evaluating several possible locations for preliminary review. During the review process, appraisals will be needed to establish fair market value as the basis for negotiating an offer.
As the current real estate market is experiencing a down turn, several properties have been brought to the attention of the District for possible school locations. In this respect, the District will have better opportunities to acquire sites in advance of the construction phase.
ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)
Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.
FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
Fees for individual appraisals are in the range of $10,000 to $15,000. Under the statute, any property with an estimated value of $500,000 or more requires two independent appraisals.
