SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Approve Interlocal Agreement for Shelter Retrofit with Hillsborough County for First Responder Location at Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary School

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

As part of the School Board's ongoing partnership with the Hillsborough County Emergency Operations Center (the "EOC"), the Board desires to further cooperate with and participate in the EOC's "Shelter" program. The EOC has requested a first responder location be placed at Tampa Bay Boulevard Elementary School (the "School"). This location will require a retrofit of Building No. 6 at the School that will include electrical upgrades, window replacement/protection and installation of impact fabric. These improvements will be funded and constructed by the County and the Board will provide Florida Building Code review, inspections and permitting, which costs will be reimbursed to the Board. The Board will provide routine day-to-day maintenance of the building and the County will provide maintenance for the facility during and after emergency shelter occupancy.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: No)

There will be no financial impact to the District. The cost of the retrofit project will be funded by Hillsborough County.
