Approve Construction Documents and Guaranteed Maximum Price for
High School "UUU" (Plant City), New Facility

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

On December 12, 2006, the Board appointed Long & Associates Architects/Engineers, Inc. and HCBeck, Ltd. to provide design and construction management services. As of the current boundaries, this school relieves Armwood, Durant, and Plant City High Schools. Project completion is scheduled for August 1, 2009.

Approval of the guaranteed maximum price will establish the cost for the facility.

ANNUAL DISTRICT GOAL(S) AND CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR(S)

Provide adequate school facilities for the accomplishment of all District Goals and Critical Success Factors.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)

Construction cost is warranted at $53,617,030, which includes $2,619,826 for extraordinary conditions (foundations, subsurface remediation work, accelerated construction schedule and associated insurance and bonds). The construction budget is $53,617,100. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Certificates of Participation Series 2007.
