EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council (UPPCC) is an independent entity formed to govern and administer the Certified Public Purchasing certification programs. Their vision is to create a global recognition and acceptance of the Certified Public Purchasing Officer (CPPO) and Certified Public Purchasing Buyer (CPPB) designations as being representative of public procurement excellence. The CPPO and CPPB programs are highly regarded and respected among procurement professionals and employers involved in the public sector. To obtain the certification candidates must meet essential requirements, including substantial work experience, formal education and coursework in procurement, along with successfully completing a written exam.
Procurement staff has been encouraged to participate in a professional development plan established last year as part of the department’s reorganization. We are very proud of their achievement.
