SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS

Recognition of Hewlett Packard (HP) Partnership, Its Value to the District and Acceptance of Rebate Funds in the Amount of $330,459.38.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The partnership between the District and the Hewlett Packard Corporation provides considerable value beyond the provision of computer hardware. In addition to the $200,000.00 grant/scholarship donation, the Purchase Edge Point program of the Printing and Imaging Division and the HP Bonus Point programs for computers, the contract provides a sliding scale cash rebate program of up to 3% of the value of hardware purchases. This rebate program has generated a total present value of $330,459.38 which will be utilized to purchase equipment for schools qualifying for the District's technology refresh program.

The rebate funds in the amount of $330,459.38 will positively impact schools qualifying for the District's technology refresh program.

EVALUATION

Quarterly review of the Hewlett Packard Contract includes review of the programs, hardware, customer satisfaction, and funding provided through the contract. These quarterly reviews are reported to the School Board.
