Approve Revision of Television License Agreement with Bright House Networks, dba Catch 47, to Televise Athletic Contests, 2008/2013 (Curriculum and Instruction)

We request approval of the Television License Agreement Revision with Bright House Networks, dba (doing business as) Catch 47 – Tampa Bay Sports Television, to telecast on a live or tape delayed basis, a minimum of 4 regular season, boys and girls athletic contests in each year of the term (2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011, 2011/2012, 2012/2013 school years). The initial telecast will occur within 24 hours of the game’s conclusion and will be shown a minimum of two times. Bright House Networks will pay rights fees to the School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida, as follows:

September 2008 - $6000

September 2009 - $6500

September 2010 - $7000

September 2011 - $7500

September 2012 - $8000

Additionally, $400 per contest will be split between both schools participating in play. Bright House Networks will also provide proof of insurance, naming The School Board of Hillsborough County, Florida as an additional insured. Revisions to the original agreement include: Increased income to district gate receipts in the form of rights fees; exclusivity to Bright House Networks to broadcast; and extention of agreement to the 2012/2013 school year.
