U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance Agreement for Fisher Science Education (Business Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Under the Department of Education Rule 6A-1012 (5), the Board may make purchases at the unit prices in contracts awarded by cooperative bid agreements. A competitive process was conducted by the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance and Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) Procurement Department that resulted in an award to Fisher Science Education for Science/Lab Supplies and Equipment.
The contract pricing allows a total discount of 32% as sole award by U.S. Communities and participating members with additional discount incentives for volume, large orders, and use of E-Commerce that could reach a total of 34.5% off, if utilized.
HCPS spent approximately $700,000 in the 2006/2007 school year for Science Supplies. Utilizing the U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance Agreement for Fisher Science Education provides additional discounts of 23-24% above HCPS two most currently used science supply vendors.
