EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Darrell Gwynn Foundation, a 501c.3 organization with a goal to prevent and ultimately cure spinal cord injuries with special emphasis on educational programs targeting high school students, is spearheading the 3rd Annual Florida Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Week. Schools participating are Alonso, Armwood, Bloomingdale, Brandon, Gaither, Middleton, Tampa Bay Technical and Wharton High Schools. These schools were selected based on the current program offerings in health science and driver education.
Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Week will increase awareness of the causes of spinal cord injury and reduce the number of individuals that are paralyzed each year in Florida.
