These projects provide for renovation of the HVAC, Fire Alarm and Intercom systems at Seffner Elementary School; Cooling Plant Replacements at Bing, Boyette Springs, Hunter's Green and Schwarzkopf Elementary Schools; partial renovation of the HVAC system at Dowdell Middle School; and renovation of the HVAC systems at Mango and Summerfield Elementary Schools. Appointment of qualified engineering firms is required to provide design services.

Florida Statutes and School Board policy outline the process and requirements for selection of architects, engineers, and construction managers. Attachment A summarizes the process. The process provides for the identification of the most highly qualified firms for the required service by a Professional Services Selection Committee that includes representatives from several District divisions and the community. Attachment C identifies the specific committee members participating in this selection and the organization represented by each.

A total of twenty-five firms responded to the solicitation included on Attachment B. Attachments D and E record the results of the Committee's evaluation of these firms at each phase of the process.

Staff has successfully concluded negotiations with the firms deemed most highly qualified by the Selection Committee to provide the required services. Based on the Selection Committee ranking and successful negotiations, staff recommends appointment of the firms listed in Attachment F for the projects and fees indicated therein.

These items are included in the District Capital Outlay: Local Millage. Construction budgets are $2,204,987 for Seffner Elementary School; $1,853,495 for Bing, Boyette Springs, Hunter’s Green and Schwarzkopf Elementary Schools; $1,758,878 for Dowdell Middle School; $1,786,097 for Mango Elementary School; and $1,640,928 for Summerfield Elementary School.
