There have been two comprehensive planning efforts underway in the Tampa Bay area for over 2 years. The One Bay effort has been engaged in working with the public to visualize the future development pattern of our seven county region in the year 2050. Concurrent with that effort, the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority (TBARTA) was created by the legislature in 2007 to plan and develop a multi-modal transportation system that will connect the seven counties in the region. This presentation will provide the School Board an overview of these programs to allow the Board the opportunity to contemplate how the School District could begin to accommodate future changes in the community's development pattern and/or available transportation options.
