Information on School District Broadcasts via the Tampa Educational Cable Consortium
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Tampa Educational Cable Consortium (TECC) can no longer provide video production services due to the loss of funding from Hillsborough County government. Under an agreement approved by the School Board on August 5, 2008, the TECC agreed to provide distribution services for programming produced by the School District. District staff already has assumed the production duties for School Board meetings, which continue to be telecast on The Education Channel and streamed on the Internet. The agreement, with the distribution costs not to exceed the previously budgeted amount of $158,000, includes the distribution of other original programming produced by the School District. That programming would include School Board meetings, the Math Homework Hotline, HCPS Best Kept Secrets (new programming with School Board members), Superintendent’s Forum, Dímelo, press conferences, etc.
