SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On November 18, 2008, the Board appointed the engineering firm of Carastro & Associates, Inc. to provide design services. The scope of work provides for replacement of the existing central cooling plant and the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) control system at each school. The proposed design includes a thermal energy storage system at each site to reduce energy costs. Project completion is scheduled for August 2009.
Approval of the design development phase will allow the engineer to proceed with construction documents.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
The project is currently funded at $3,283,940. The estimate of probable cost is $2,985,400. This item is included in the District Capital Outlay: Local Millage.
