Approve an Amendment to the Hewlett Packard Contract for Identity Engraving on the Top Exterior Surface of Laptop and Tablet Computer Configurations
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
To clearly identify laptop and tablet style computers as district owned electronic assets, the top surface of any of these devices purchased after May 1, 2009, will be engraved as follows:

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
At an approximate cost of $15 per unit (subject to further negotiation), the average annual cost for 2,800 units would be $42,000.
EVALUATION
This will be added as a report to the Hewlett Packard Quarterly Review Committee meeting which may also include representatives from the Property Control Department.
