SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Proclaim the Month of April 2009 as “Child Abuse Prevention Month” in Hillsborough County (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The month of April was first declared “Child Abuse Prevention Month” by President Ronald Reagan in 1985. The Keeping Kids Safe Partnership, organized through the leadership of the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County, is a collaborative effort of community members dedicated to improving child safety and well-being. Together with the partnership, we are working to increase awareness about child abuse, how to stop it, and how to prevent it in our county. Through collaborative efforts with neighbors, community groups, faith-based organizations, schools, businesses, law enforcement agencies, the courts, and government agencies in Hillsborough County, we hope to value, nurture, support, and advocate for our children and their well-being.
