Accept the Highest and Best Bid Submitted by Synergy Recycling of Central Florida - Invitation to Bid #9039-DST Motor Oil Disposal (Business Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This bid was prepared at the request of the Transportation Department to establish a firm fee to be paid to Hillsborough County Public Schools for the disposal of used motor oil. As this is a revenue generating item, the bid amounts on the tabulation sheets are enclosed in parenthesis, and awards are made to the highest responsive and responsible bidder meeting specifications. This recommendation has been reviewed by the General Manager of Transportation. A more detailed review of specifications can be obtained by contacting the Procurement Department.

This item will generate revenue for the District and alleviate the additional expense of compliance with oil disposal guidelines. This contract is anticipated to generate $6,000 in revenue.

EVALUATION

Contract administration or evaluation is performed by the Project Manager (end user) and Procurement Officer, who function as a team. Reviews are conducted face to face, typically quarterly, or by utilizing an online vendor performance report. Prior to soliciting a new contract, the Contract Administration team must first give consideration to the specifications and supporting data of the expiring contract.
