EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Office of Equal Educational Opportunity (OEEO) is responsible for the compliance oversight of the Florida Educational Equity Act, Section 1000.05, Florida Statutes; the Employment Equity Act; the Gender Equity in Athletics Act; and other state and federal legislation relating to equity in education. Reports submitted to the OEEO are ultimately presented to the Commissioner and the Board of Education. The mission and goals of equity, access, and closing the achievement gap among minority and non-minority groups continue to be the focus in accordance with state and federal legislation.
Approval by the School Board is required, by the Office of Equal Education Opportunity (OEEO), for the final submission of the school district's 2008-2009 annual update.
