SUBJECT / RECOMMENDATIONS
Approve Adoption of Recommended Titles as Flexibility Instructional Materials for Family and Consumer Sciences Programs (Career and Technical Education)
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We request approval to adopt the attached Interior Design materials for the Family and Consumer Sciences Program. The attached memorandum from Joyce Conner, Supervisor, Family and Consumer Sciences, the Flex Textbook Committee studied and recommended the instructional materials according to district guidelines (Policy 4.16) which include the following:
- The district Flex Textbook Selection Committee is trained in the instructional materials evaluation process.
- The Flex Committee reviews and evaluates submissions using the Florida Department of Education instructional materials evaluation packet.
- The Flex Committee through a consensus vote recommends instructional materials to be placed on the flex list for purchase.

FINANCIAL IMPACT (Budgeted: Yes)
These items may be purchased using categorical textbook funds included in the general operating budget for Curriculum and Instruction. The estimated cost is $7,955.97.
