Approve Agreement for Technical Services with Charlotte Danielson of Outcomes Associates to Create a New Teacher Evaluation Instrument (Information and Technology Division)

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Charlotte Danielson of Outcomes Associates is one of the nation's foremost experts in teacher evaluation having developed evaluation systems for Cincinnati, Denver, Miami, and many other districts through the Teacher Advancement Program. She is currently working on a similar project with the state of Arkansas.

Charlotte Danielson will work in consultation with Hillsborough County Public Schools to create a new Teacher Evaluation instrument. Four specific forms will be produced:
  • Teacher evaluation form and rubric designed for use by principals
  • Teacher evaluation form and rubric designed for use by peer evaluators
  • Classroom observation form designed for use over a 30-50 minute period of time
  • Classroom observation form designed for use in a 3-5 minute classroom walk-through

    Work will begin during the week of September 21, 2009. The new evaluation will be used as the Fall Evaluation form in 2010.
