Approve the Memorandum of Understanding Between Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS) and Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA Success After School for the Implementation and Operation of Before School, After School, and Summer Programs (YMCA) (Student Services and Federal Programs Division)

HCPS and YMCA have partnered to provide school age care since 1981. For 28 years, the strength of this collaboration has ensured quality care for students and families in our community. The purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to establish an agreement between HCPS and YMCA concerning their respective roles and responsibilities for the implementation and operation of the Before School, After School, and Summer Programs. This memorandum of understanding is in effect September 16, 2009 through June 30, 2010. See attached.

* Align financial resources to support the district’s strategic goals

The amount of $340,599.35 will be invoiced to the Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA by HCPS budget department for programs located at 32 elementary sites. These dollars will be used to compensate for the cost of electricity and custodian supplies.

Bi-annual principal and parent surveys will be conducted by HCPS and the YMCA and results shared with HCPS and the YMCA. Parent and Student Satisfaction Surveys will be among the tools used for evaluation. Surveys will employ a Likert scale, which asks respondents to specify their level of agreement to a statement.
