EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
On September 7, 2004, the Board appointed The Rosier Alliance and J.B.D. Construction, Inc. to provide design and construction management services for renovations at DeSoto Elementary School. On March 14, 2006, the Board approved the reassignment of the contract for design services to RHC and Associates, Inc. due to the withdrawal of The Rosier Alliance from the project. (Prior to assuming the role of lead designer, RHC and Associates, Inc. was an engineering consultant to The Rosier Alliance on this project.) The scope of work provided for the renovation of gang toilets for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility, upgrading of fire alarm and security systems, restoration of wood floors in old classrooms, telephone system replacement, and door hardware replacement for ADA accessibility. Mechanical work included replacement of four classroom air conditioning units, main electrical switch gear, and electrical panels. Exterior work included painting; dumpster enclosure relocation; correction of site grading issues; and addition of perimeter security fencing and gates, bus drop-off canopy, and ramps to provide ADA accessibility.
The architect and lead designer advises that the referenced project is finally complete in accordance with the plans and specifications and other contract documents and recommends Board acceptance.
